IN THE HEART OF THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE
Upon arriving in the ever-moving Bangkok, it's easy to ask yourself, "Will you ever find a moment of peace and quiet in a city that embodies hustle and bustle?" Taxis, scooters, cars, and buses fill the streets as people cross roads and walk along. You find yourself in just another car on the road, heading to a destination unknown to those passing by. Then, with a final left turn, the car pulls into the Amari Bangkok hotel drop-off zone, and everything seems to change.
Walking into the lobby is like taking a breath, not realizing you have been holding it all along. Our bags found their way to our rooms as we received the warmest of welcomes in the hotel lobby. An exquisite three-story room crowned with a chandelier centrepiece that makes the whole room glow with warm hues to match the welcome we received. As we pass different staff members, we are met with big smiles, quick bows, and a "Sawadika" from every one of them. We are escorted to our rooms, provided with our key cards, Wi-Fi passwords, and left with the name of a person to contact should we require any assistance during our stay.
The rooms are spacious, modern, and minimal with subtle Thai touches throughout. And the view from the 18th floor does not disappoint. A shower after a long flight and a bit of rest, and the room turns into a sanctuary.
A SANCTUARY TO EXPERIENCE
Many of us prefer a quick workout first thing in the morning, and that is not something you have to give up or alter when visiting Amari Bangkok, as their state-of-the-art gym will have you breaking a sweat in no time. Follow that with a quick swim in the pool, and it`s the perfect way to start your day.
After a good gym session, though, there is one thing you crave – and that is food. Now when it comes to the breakfast buffet at Amaya Food Studio on the 4th floor, they offer an overwhelming number of options. Breakfast was the only time we realized how many people were staying at the hotel as the tables that were empty during the previous night's dinner were now packed with people, all enjoying their meals. When we say you have options, we mean you have six or seven stations serving different breakfast foods, each station offering a wide selection. There is a fruit station, salad section, cereal section, pastry station, egg station – where you can choose how you want your eggs prepared and brought to your table, an omelette station… you get the idea. It took us a few minutes to take it all in, but we had a GREAT breakfast, to say the least. Needless to say, their breakfast buffet will satisfy even the pickiest eaters!
If you wish to avoid the 4th floor buzz around breakfast and want a more exclusive and private dining experience, a Club Premier room provides you access to Club Siraa on the 9th floor. Offering a buffet breakfast, snack bar, early evening drinks, and all-day coffee and tea. The lounge also has space for private meetings. We enjoyed Club Siraa during the day while catching up on a bit of work with coffee to keep us going through a different time zone. But all work and no play make Jack a dull boy, so come 5 pm, we enjoyed their signature cocktails and can recommend you stop by there.
A SEAFOOD EXTRAVAGANZA
If you thought the breakfast buffet was something to write home about, you need to stop by on a Friday night and enjoy the “Sailors Seafood Dinner Buffet.” Where this morning you found breakfast stations, you now find ice bowls filled with seafood and amazing ice sculptures representative of the food served at that station. Enjoy your meal while the lobby has live music playing, ask for a Nitrogen Tiramisu as dessert, and it`s the cherry on top of a gastronomic seafood extravaganza.
A LASTING IMPRESSION
At LUXE Global, we award service excellence, and a prime example of that excellence is the Amari Bangkok. No matter where you turn, you are greeted with a smile by someone ready to assist with whatever you might need. Throughout our stay, it was clear that the Amari Bangkok will not only go above and beyond to meet your needs and treat you like royalty, but they also put noticeable effort into their attention to detail. Whether it is a personalized TV greeting screen, cleaning every nook and cranny of the lobby floor while we waited for our elevator, or the greeting card received on your bed. Arriving in the city, we felt like just another traveller in a foreign country. Leaving the Amari Bangkok, we felt special, seen, and welcome to return at any time in the future.
