HOW DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN TRAVEL, AND WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE IT SERIOUSLY?

Traveling has always been a part of my life. My parents frequently took me along on their trips, so I grew up accustomed to exploring new places. However, the turning point came when I felt an irresistible urge to embark on road trips. Since then, traveling has transformed into a passion—almost an addiction—to discover more and more of the world.

WITH A FULL-TIME JOB, HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO BALANCE WORK WITH YOUR PASSION FOR TRAVEL?

I make use of every single minute of my time off to plan trips. For me, traveling is not just a hobby but my way of achieving work-life balance.

WHAT LED YOU TO CREATE TRAVELMINA, AND HOW HAS IT EVOLVED SINCE YOU STARTED?

It all began in 2019 during a road trip along the USA’s West Coast. I experimented with Instagram photos and started sharing my experiences, but it was actually my boyfriend who encouraged me to start the account. After that, I began researching ways to grow my audience and improve my content. Over time, TravelMina has evolved as I continue to learn and refine my approach.

Right now, I’m in Australia, and I have to say it’s one of the most incredible places to experience a summer Christmas! Another great option is Cape Town, which is equally charming this time of year.

Start by researching spots, countries, or regions online. Personally, I rely on Instagram for inspiration and then dive into blogs to get more details. I save every location on Google Maps and design the ideal travel route from there. For trips during public holidays, it’s crucial to book as early as possible.

HOW DO YOU ENSURE THAT HOLIDAY TRAVEL IS BOTH ENJOYABLE AND STRESS-FREE? ANY PERSONAL TIPS?

Preparation is key! Book tickets for must-visit attractions well in advance, and plan your days thoughtfully. For instance, group places that are close to each other. Most importantly, remember to relax and enjoy the experience!

FINALLY, LOOKING BACK, IS THERE A CHRISTMAS TRAVEL EXPERIENCE THAT STANDS OUT AS PARTICULARLY MEMORABLE FOR YOU?

Christmas in New York stands out for me. Ever since watching Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, it had been a dream to experience the city during the holidays. I finally made it happen last year, and it was magical! I also have fond memories of celebrating Christmas in Spain and Australia. No matter where I am, the most important part of the holiday is being surrounded by loved ones.
