WANDERING THE WILD MOORS OF WUTHERING HEIGHTS

Wuthering Heights

Bronte country beckons us with its haunting beauty as we set foot on the rugged moors that inspired Emily Bronte’s Gothic masterpiece, “Wuthering Heights”. On the windswept Yorkshire landscape, we tread the paths that Catherine and Heathcliff once walked, their tormented love story echoing in the desolate hills. The mist-shrouded ruins of Top Withens stand as a testament to the enduring power of Bronte’s words, as if the ghosts of her characters still linger amidst the atmospheric moorland.

UNRAVELING THE CHARMS OF HEMINGWAY’S PARIS

Café de Flore, PARIS

No literary journey would be complete without a visit to the City of Light, a muse to countless writers throughout history. In the bohemian quarters of Montparnasse and the Left Bank, we delve into the world of Ernest Hemingway, tracing the path of his footsteps. At Café de Flore, a place Hemingway frequented to the point of sometimes using it as his office, we sip espresso while contemplating the lost generation that Hemingway immortalized in “The Sun Also Rises”. The streets of Paris come alive, evoking the spirit of artists and intellectuals who sought solace in its alluring embrace. The architecture, ambiance, and atmosphere make it easy to see why Paris is such a muse to so many artists! It makes you want to pick up a book or write a story – even if you have never picked up a pen before.

DISCOVERING TOLKIEN’S MIDDLE-EARTH IN NEW ZEALAND

MIDDLE-EARTH from The Lord of the Rings

Our expedition takes an otherworldly turn as we venture to the magnificent landscape of New Zealand, which served as the backdrop for Peter Jackson’s cinematic interpretation of J.R.R Tolkien’s epic saga, “The Lord of the Rings.” We venture into Mordor (Tongariro National Park) taking heed, for “one does not simply walk into Mordor”. Our quest through Middle-earth explores Hobbiton (Matamata) where the Shire comes to life and we find ourselves in a realm where fantasy and reality intertwine. Here, you are expecting hobbits to appear at any moment, and you feel the need to go on an adventure to find the elves and dwarfs as well. While New Zealand didn’t inspire our author, nor did he ever set foot in the country, Peter Jackson’s interpretation made New Zealand and “The Lord of the Rings” synonymous, so we still think it counts.
